Alps to Ocean cycle trail: Otematata to Kurow
After the big day yesterday of over 120km it was time to take it easy once
again. This journey was only about 30km. The trail wasn’t properly
established as yet, so most of it was on the road.
It was a pleasant ride though running past Lake Aviemore and lake Waitaki ie basically down the valley. With its share of ups to go with the downs, the ride was not particularly easy especially on my tired legs.
With all that energy involved, a sign for a cafe is always inviting. White
bread, meat dripping with its own juices and a caffeine booster. Yes !
I stayed on a very pleasant farm in Kurow.
I think farm stays are the best, this farm and Peter’s on the Otago section made me feel really at home with real family warmth.
